Do You Use a GPS?

In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned my GPS.  If you travel a bit, I have to say they are extremely helpful.  I have a Tom-Tom One, but no matter what brand you use, I think they are great.  I will admit that I originally got it, cause at times I can be a little geekish.  (You know…only difference between men and boys and all that.)

My wife and I camp quite a bit and we’ll take the camper to some places we have never been and thought it would come in handy.   On my wife’s recent trip to Pennsylvania she took Mandy (that’s the GPS name - more on that in a minute) and it really helped get her where she needed to go.  She flew into Philadelphia and rented a car.  Her family lives in Lancaster, PA - about 90 minutes away and, since we haven’t lived in that area in years, it’s easy to forget your way around.

Mandy, guided her from the airport to home and around different areas of Lancaster and York Counties.  If you can spare $100 - 200 bucks from your tax rebate/refund, I would definitely recommend a GPS.  We even find it useful around the Omaha area when you’re going to a part of town that you’re not familiar.

Oh, about “Mandy”…that actually is the name associated with the voice that comes with the GPS, so that’ show we refer to the unit.  There are several voices that you can choose, but we started with Mandy and are sticking with her.  On some units you can even download different voices.  Silly, maybe, but kinda cool…just like ringtones.
